Changing the way we build our towns and villages will have the single biggest climate impact of any action that TDC can take.
Climate action is not only about reducing the Council’s operational emissions. These pale by comparison with our community emissions, the vast majority of which are the result of excessive commuting by car.
By creating more compact, well-designed towns and villages and thereby enabling less harmful transport options, we can reduce our emissions much more than through any other Council action.
